Pokhara–Nepal-Indian Friendship Association (NIFA) organized the 8th friendship annual general meeting in Pokhara on Saturday. Gandaki Province Chief Minister Krishna Chandara Nepali Pokhrel inaugurated the meeting amid a formal ceremony held in Pokhara City Hall.
Addressing the ceremony, CM Pokhrel reminded that the Nepal-India relationship is a higher-level relationship than a political one. ‘The mutual relation between India and Nepal is based on social, cultural and religious ground,’ CM Pokhrel said. At the same time, he also requested India to support any mega project in Gandaki Province.
Minister for Tourism, Industry, Commerce and Supplies of Gandaki Manibhadra Sharma, NIFA chairman and Province 1 Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation minister Om Prakash Sarawagi, Madhesh Province Finance Minister Sailendra Prasad Shah, Indian Embassy Kathmandu First Secretary (Political) Naveen Kumar, BJP Delhi spokesperson Shiv Vardhan put their remarks during the program.
Likewise, NIFA senior vice chairman Tul Bahadur Saud, another vice chairman NIFA Gandaki chairman Rishiram Sapkota, and advisor Hariram Paudel also expressed their views on the program. NIFA General Secretary Bodhkrishna Subedi and Treasurer Rajkumar Agrawal presented their annual report in the program chaired by NIFA acting chairman Engineer Shailendra Mohan Jha.
