Pokhara—China has successfully landed its Zhu Rong space rover on Mars on Saturday. The rover touched down Mars after seven months of space travel, South China Morning Post reports. Following this success, China became the third nation to safely land a rover on the red planet.
The China National Space Administration (CNSA) confirmed the landing of the rover and added that there arose nine minutes of terror as the CNSA didn’t get any radio signal from the rover. Chinese President Xi Jinping, in a written statement, said that the successful Mars mission is an important step towards the exploration of that planet.
Earlier, the United States and the Soviet Union came up with a soft landing of a space rover on Mars, which is 139 million kilometers far from Earth. According to information, the Zhu Rong will send various data from Mars for another 90 days. China is also building a space station to explore the universe.
