By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara- The Ghandruk Tourism Management Committee (GTMC) has decided to reopen Ghandruk village which has been halting tourism services for about nine months following the Covid- 19 pandemic. According to GTMC Chairman Kisham Gurung, the village is to reinstate its service from January 14.
Ghandruk is a popular touristic village in the northern part of Kaski in Gandaki Province. The village is also known as a stone village due to its rustic stone- steps. Ghandruk connects the popular Annapurna Base Camp and Ghorepani/Poon Hill. Speaking in a press meet organizing in Pokhara, Chairman Gurung said that the tourism services will be continued adopting the health and safety protocol. The village also established an isolation center to put the tourists who fall sick at night time.
At the same time, senior tourism entrepreneurs Ganesh Bahadur Bhattarai and Agni Kandeol, Pokhara Tourism Council Chairman Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai, Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Chief Kashiraj Bhandari, Paschimanchal Hotel Association Pokhara Chairman Bikal Tulachan, TAAN WRA Pokhara Chairman Sushil Raj Paudel, NMA Annapurna Chairman Sesh Kanta Sharma, NATTA Gandaki Chairman Sanjay Kant Sigdel and ACAP Pokhara Chief Rajkumar Gurung also put their views in the program.
