Pokhara—Crossing the stipulated 6.2 Km distance in 13 minute and 10 second, Bishwo Gurung from Ghandruk became the champion of 2nd horse racing competition organized at that touristy place on Wednesday. At the same time Hitman Gurung became first runner up completing the 5.2 Km course in 13 minute 11 seconds.
Similarly, Ramkaji Gurung turned 2nd runner up finishing the stipulated course in 14 minute and 23 seconds. Winner, first runner up and 2nd runner up bagged Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. A total of 23 equestrians took part in the competition organized with a motive of tourism promotion of Ghandruk.
A total of 35 entrepreneurs have been taming horses in Ghandruk areas. Most of the horses are used to fetch goods for hotels and house. Ghandruk is a tourist area and is popular for trekking. Horse and Mule Management Welfare Committee Ghandruk was the organizer of the competition.
