Pokhara—The public transportation service of Pokhara is to adopt an electronic ticketing system within two months. Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC) office, Ncloud Pvt Ltd Kathmandu and transport entrepreneurs from Pokhara have clinched a memorandum of understanding to implement the e-ticketing system within PMC area today.
PMC Mayor Man Bahadur GC said that the MoU was clinched to offer the better service to the passengers. Before imposing this service, all the public buses will get a special e-ticketing device which will be installed by Ncloud. As the service begins, the PMC will cooperate and monitor the service. The Ncloud will also provide the training to the staffers of the public buses and the passengers’ secrecy relating to e-ticketing will also be kept safe. The ownership of the device would be remained with Ncloud that will repair the devices if needed.
The ownership of the device would be with Ncloud which has also the responsibility of repairing of the installed devices if needed. Ncloud will sell the e-ticketing smart cards to bus entrepreneurs who will get their money back in their bank account through special software that would be developed by Ncloud which has also agreed to develop mobile application relating to e-ticketing service in future.
Mayor GC, Ncloud CEO Dipendra Narayan Shrestha and representatives from seven other bus entrepreneur committees have signed the deal. Pokhara Bus Entrepreneur Committee, Sthaniya Shringa Transportation Entrepreneur Committee, Begnastal Bus Sanchalak Committee, Prithvi Rajmarga Bus Sanchalak Committee, Bindhyabasini Transportaion Entrepreneur Committee, Pokhara Phewa Transportation Pvt.Ltd and Taxi Entrepreneur committee are those seven signatories. The 4 year long MoU will be effective from March 14.
