PTC to take part in Bengal Travel Mart

Pokhara—The Pokhara Tourism Council (PTC) in association with Nepal Tourism Board is to take part in the take part in the Bengal Travel Mart (BTM) to be held on February 5, 6 and 7 in Siliguri. Organizing a press meet PTC chairman Chirinjibi Pokhara said that their participation in that mart would be helpful in promotion Pokhara in the northeast of Indian.

According to him, the promotional tour members would take part in the business to business meeting in the BTM. At the same time the 22-member delegation would also promote Pokhara including whole Nepal in the mart. PTC had already clinched a deal with the Eastern Himalaya Travel and Tour Operators Association (EHTTOA) to support each other to promote their respective destinations. The EHTTOA which is organizing that BTM is an umbrella organization of tourism entrepreneurs from six states of the northeast India. That deal was clinched during the term of Som Bahadur Thapa.

According to promotional tour coordinator and Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents Pokhara vice chairman Sanjay Kanta Sigdel, Pokhara Night and a press meet would also be organized in the sideline of BTM. He further informed that the visiting team would also reach to Guahati of Assam to promote Pokhara and Nepal.

NTB Gandaki chief Mani Lamichhane is hopeful that the participation of entrepreneurs from Pokhara in the BTM would be helpful in promotion Nepal in an international tourism market. NTB Gandaki officer Surya Thapaliya said that scores of tourists enter Nepal from Kakarbhitta bordering point so the mart could be a right place to promote Pokhara.
