Kathmandu—The Dhurmush Suntali Foundation has announced an International Cricket Stadium which will be built in Chitwan of Nepal. The foundation and Bharatpur Metropolitan City have clinched a deal of land incurring to build that stadium which cost has been projected some Rs 3 billion. The 3D design of stadium has also been released and the stadium would be met all the criteria of ICC.
The land that foundation got was the property of Tribhuvan University. Now the land has been provided to foundation from metropolitan City that got it from the university. According to foundation’s chief Sitaram Kattel aka Dhurmus, the master plan of the stadium will be prepared within a period of six months and the stadium would be completed after two years of work start in Bharatpur- 16.
The 30,000 audience capacity stadium will be named Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium that will cover the area of 20 Bigha and 8 kattha. The financial part of the stadium would be based on the volunteer donation by the Nepalese community. Kattel and his wife Kunjana Ghimire aka Suntali have already constructed model villages for quake victims, flood victims and Mushahar community in Nepal.
