NC Mahasamiti undergoing in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: Mahasamiti members of the Nepali Congress have started putting forth their views on the proposals prepared on four different subjects in the ongoing Mahasamiti meeting in Kathmandu from Friday. NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said that discussion has begun on four different proposals– political, organizational, overall economic policy and party’s internal finance in the closed session.

Of the proposals, Vice-President Bimalendra Nidhi had presented the political proposal in the meeting on Saturday and the remaining three proposals were presented by General Secretary Dr Shashank Koirala, Joint-General Secretary Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat and Treasurer Sita Devi Yadav respectively today itself. Spokesperson Sharma added that Mahasamiti members participating in the discussion expressed their views that political proposal should be further amended. They also suggested activities for party’s organizational consolidation and evaluation.

However, efforts are underway among top leaders of the party over the statute draft proposal prepared to amend the party’s statute as per the federalism. Another general Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka would present another proposal of statute draft after consensus among the top leaders in the meeting, it is learnt. Discussion was underway regarding number of office-bearers and election of office-bearers in the statute draft, RSS reports.
