Pokhara—A 3-day training of trainers (TOT) for independent journalists from various 16 districts has been kicked off in Pokhara on Saturday. Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Man Bahadur GC inaugurated the training organized by Independent Journalists’ Association in Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Kaski hall. A total of 30 journalists are taking part in the training.
Addressing the participants, Mayor GC said that the media had played a very crucial role to bring the change and revolution in Nepal. He further suggest journalists to have very respectful journalism and also urged all the concerns not to criticize the government at a time when it does constructive work.
IJA central chairman Krishna Bastola urged all the journalists to practice independent journalism. He also asked concern journalists not to be prejudices during the time of reporting though some of them are following certain political ideology. FNJ Kaski Chairman Dipendra Shsrestha asked all the journalists to follow their code of conduct.
Senior trainer Ram Krishna Regmi asked all the journalists to do hard work for effective output. Saying that the journalism in 21st century is being challenging, trainer Regmi urged all the journalists to practice fair journalism. IJA Senior Vice Chairman Uday Bahadur Amatya and General Secretary Nabaraj Pahadi also put their remarks during the inaugural session.
