Pokhara—Nepali Congress (NC) Kaski has unveiled its electoral manifesto for upcoming parliamentary and provincial elections slated for December 26 in Pokhara on Sunday.
Though NC had unveiled its overall manifesto from central level earlier, the district committee came up with a separate manifesto targeting for Kaski. NC Kaski district candidates for parliamentary and provincial elections put their views and electoral agendas in a press meet organized by Nepal Press Union Kaski here in Pokhara. Earlier, NC district manifesto was read by its district committee acting chairman Sudeep Mohan Bhattarai.
The manifesto focused on the economic prosperity of the nation and the income generation to uplift the living standard of people. Employment for all, fast services in government offices, corruption control, free treatment and medicines to elderly people, widows and handicapped Dalit, perfect Pokhara city, fast construction of Pokhara Regional International Airport are some of the agendas that have been confined in the manifesto.
Aggressive promotion of tourism, development of homestay tourism, conservation of Phewa Lake, use of Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) for the prosperity of local people, development of education, reduction of population density in city area, construction of bypass roads and railway, energy production and development of Kaski as investment friendly district also are the electoral agendas of Kaski NC.
Accusing the left alliance of heading for authoritarian rule, NC Kaski leader appealed voters to vote them for democracy and liberal economic system. Speaking in a program, NC candidate Devraj Chalise claimed that the Nepali people should bear autocratic system if leftist parties garner 2/3 majority in upcoming polls. Another candidate Yagya Bahadur Thapa said that he had started and done many development works in his constituency; so he claimed he is the best candidate to vote in his constituency.
Thapa as Kaski constituency number 1 candidate for parliamentary election, Chalise for constituency number 2 and Sukra Raj Sharma for constituency number 3 of Kaski has expressed their views during a press meet. Likewise, as provincial candidates- Jeevan Pariyar of constituency number 1 (Ka), Krishna Bahadur KC for constituency 1 (Kha), Guru Prasad Baral for constituency 2 (Ka), Bindu Kumar Thapa for constituency 2 (Kha), Sharada Paudel for constituency number 3 (Ka) and Sikandar Kumar Gurung for constituency number 3 (Kha) expressed their views during the meeting. NPU Kaski chairman Siromani Baral thanked all the journalists, candidates and leaders for their time in press meet.
