Three persons killed in Mustang bus accident

Pokhara—At least three persons were killed at spot as a bus plunged at Kagbeni of Jomsom-Muktinath road section in Nepal’s Mustang district. The bus with pilgrims was going back to Jomsom from Muktinath Temple but it met with an accident as it arrived Kagbeni this evening, informed District Police Office Mustang.

According to information, 20 other wounded in the accident happened as the bus number Ga 1 Kha 5529 reportedly suffered break fail. Six of them are said to be in critical condition. Deceased are identified as Ganesh Subedi of Biratnagar, driver Khem Bahadur Budha Magar of Baglung and Sharmila Dulal of Kirtipur. Four persons had lost their lives in the same area some two months ago too.

Injured are receiving treatment at district hospital Mustang as there is no possibility of night flight from nearby town Pokhara due to adverse mountain weather in Mustang. Pilgrims had reached Muktinath temple during the time of Nepal’s biggest festival Dashain and to take holy bath in Kaligandai near Kagbeni.
