British national killed in Manaslu

Pokhara—A British national was killed on Monday when he suffered high altitude sickness as he was ascending Mt Manaslu which is also known as the killer mountain.

The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old Philip Harver. Some three week ago, Harver along with his other seven left for Manaslu from Kathmandu. According to information, the Harver felt altitude sickness while climbing up Camp IV and breathed his last at around 8 am while descending at Camp III.

It was still unclear that how many of the climbers ascended the Manaslu and it was difficult to send helicopter for rescue operation due to adverse weather condition. Mt Manaslu, which is also the eighth highest mountain in the world, situates at 8,163 metres above ocean level.
