Candidacy filing undergoing for 2nd phase of civic polls in Nepal

Pokhara—The filing of nomination for second phase of civic polls in province number 1, 5 and 7 is undergoing in Nepal. Candidates from political parties and independent candidates are busy to file their nomination in 35 districts of the nation.

Aspiring candidates could file their nomination from 8 am to 4 PM today. Beside RJP-N, almost all the parties are taking part in the candidacy filliping process. The polls are going to be held in 334 local units including 1 metropolitan city, 7 sub-metropolitan city, 111 municipalities and 215 rural municipalities.

64, 32, 765 voters are eligible to cast their vote in this election that is slated for June 28. 66,900 staffers will be deployed to hold election in 8364 poling centers, informed Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav.

Out of 7 provinces of Npeal, the EC has already conducted the civic polls in Provinces 3, 4 and 6, while the polls for Province 2 have been rescheduled for September 18.
