Youba Raj Kunwar becomes chief of Annapurna Rural Municipality

Pokhara—Youba Raj Kunwar of ruling Nepali Congress became victorious in chief of Annapurna Rural Municipality- Kaski in local election on Wednesday. Kunwar garnered 4,672 votes to defeat his nearest rival main opposition CPN-UML’s Bishnu KC who got 264 less votes than former.

At the same time, CPN-UML’s Sagun Gurung defeated his nearest rival Nepali Congress Khem Kumari Gurung to become deputy chief of that municipality. They garnered 4,586 and 4,469 votes respectively.

NC also won the chairman of ward number 1, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9, while CPN-UML got the chairman of ward 2, 3, 7, 10 and 11 of that rural municipality. Earlier, CPN-UML won the Rural Municipality Chairman in Madi, Rupa and Machhapuchhre of Kaski district.

Similarly, the vote counting of Pokhara Metropolitan City of Kaski is undergoing. The counting of 88 out of 283 local units of first phase of elections has already been concluded in Nepal. CPN-UML won top posts in 34 units, while Nepali Congress, CPN-MC and others bagged 31, 20 and 3 units respectively, Election Commission informed.
