Surkhet—With a motto of tourism promotion, bridging the Nepal’s largest lake Rara and 2nd largest Phewa Lake through tourism activities, tourism entrepreneurs from Pokhara have arrived here in Surkhet under the Jaun Hai Rara Campaign (Rara Observation Tour) run by Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Western Regional Association Pokhara.
An interaction among the Pokhara tourism entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs from Surkhet and leaders of civil society has been conducted in Surkhet on Saturday. Addressing the interaction, Mid Western Regional Administrator Vegendra Raj Sharma Paudel stressed on the coordination among the provinces to promote the tourism of their regions. He also said that there is need of modern airport to operate direct flights to Kathmandu and Pokhara from Surkhet.
Surkhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Prakash Adhikari welcomed the entrepreneurs’ team from Pokhara and called for the cooperation between the entrepreneurs of Surkhet and Rara region. NATTA Pokhara Chairman Dilli Prasad Gautam made clear that the campaign they run is for the tourism promotion of Mid Western Region. ‘Promotion of domestic tourism also is our goal,’ he added.
Nepal Tourism Boar Pokhara in-charge Uday Bhattarai said that the NTB had launched the Ghimphir Barsa 2073 to promote the domestic tourism. He also suggested the locals from Rara to engage in tourism business as hundreds of domestic tourists flocked to Rara last years.
Pokhara Tourism Council Chairman Kedar Sharma, Hotel Entrepreneurs’ Association Surkhet Chairman Tarka Bahadur Shahi, campaign coordinator Naba Raj Adhikari and tourism entrepreneur Hari Bista also expressed their remarks during the interaction.
