Pokhara—The exhibition of more than 50 years old photographs of Pokhara is undergoing in this Lake City. The three day long exhibition was inaugurated in Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) hall on Saturday.
Most of the pictures were photographed by American Peace Corps volunteer Douglas Hall and his colleagues who were in Nepal during their tenure in Nepal. Douglas and his spouse Kate have arrived here in exhibition to commence the program formally.
The exhibition was solely carried out by entrepreneur Sunil Ulak and he was assisted by Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City Office and PCCI. There have been displayed 84 pictures among the 18,000 pictures that were taken by Peace Corps volunteers in Nepal.
Speaking in the exhibition, Douglas expressed his anxiety that Pokhara have converted into a concrete jungle unlike old and natural Pokhara. He however remained happy knowing that there is now availability of electricity, drinking water and others services in Pokhara.
Meanwhile, Douglas also handed over a pen drive of 23,000 Pokhara related pictures to his friend Ulak. Ulak is thinking of displaying those pictures in museum in Pokhara forever.
