Kathmandu—Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal requested main opposition CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to help to pass the constitution amendment bill putting the state demarcation issue in idle.
PM Dahal floated this proposal holding a meeting with Oli and UML Vice Chairman Bamadev Gautam today. CPN-UML is positive on PM Dahal’s proposal but that party has not made any official conclusion over the PM’s putting. Ruling Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula updated Chairman Oli and Gautam about latest development regarding the talks among the parties.
Source said that Chairman Oli made clear that his party won’t be obstacle to go ahead in constitutional procedures but always oppose for unconstitutional move. Earlier, PM Dahal held a meeting with Madhesi leaders. Dahal met Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav including other Madhesi leaders. Yadav had arrived Nepal after concluding his India visit today.
Vice Chairman Gautam told reporters that his party informed PM Dahal that the consensus before the PM’s China visits was impossible.
