Kathmandu—Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan has arrived in Kathmandu on his three day official visit to Nepal, this afternoon. Chang also heldd a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and discussed bilateral issues. PM Dahal is scheduled to leave for China in Baluwatar this evening.
PM Dahal expressed Nepal’s interest on One Belt One Road (OBOR) project and made cleared that Nepal is ready to become one of the partners on that project. Dahal also reiterated the Nepal’s stance on one China police.
On behalf of China, Minister Chang Wanquan also pledged Yuan 200 million grant assistance to the Nepal Army. China will also provide some heavy equipment and logistics to NA. Such commitment was made by Chang during a meeting with his Nepalese counterpart Balkrishna Khand in Singha Durbar today.
Earlier, this afternoon, Chang’s including 19 Chinese delegates were received by minister Khand and Defense Secretary at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). There is a schedule that Chang will visit President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, and Chief of Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri on Friday.
