Recentfusion.com–Pokhara: Kirshna Bahadur Thapa has been elected as a president of Independent Journalists’ Association (IJA) Kaski chapter in Pokhara on Saturday.
Krishna Bahadur Ranabhat was chosen in vice chairman, while Asafal Gautam as secretary. Tilak Thapa and Sribhadra Paudel were elected in treasurer and joint secretary respectively. Bharat Prasad Tiwari, Suresh Raj Adhikari, Khim Kumari Sharma, Laxmi Gurung and Sagar Karki were given the responsibility of executive member in IJA new committee.
At the same time, Uday Bahadur Amatya, Narayan Karki, Krishna Prasad Bastola, Dina Nath Baral, Shani Rana, Kalyan Panta, Bishwo Lal Shrestha, Madhav Biyogi, Shila Gurung, Prem Nepali, Rishi Ram Baral, Durga Adhikari, Prakash Bastola, Padma Raj Ghimire, Nain Bahadur Chhetri, Rajendra Khatri, Pralahad Chandra Ghimire, Dhaka Mohan Baral, Dilli Raman Kafle and Pul Prasad Gurung have been been elected as councilors of the committee.
All elected executives and councilors were took the oath of office and secrecy from the election committee coordinator Dr. Ram Chandra Baral. Committee members- human right activist Surya Prasad Baral and Palpa branch secretary Ram Raj Gnwali assisted the Baral. Social worker Lila Bhakta Acharya, IJA center president Krishna Prasad Bastola and councilor Uday Bahadur Amatya congratulated all the elected executives and councilors.
Newly elected president Thapa said that he would work for the wellbeing of IJA members. Earlier, the convention was inaugurated by Pokhara University vice chancellor Chirinjeevi Prasad Sharma.
