Recentfusion.com–Pokhara: The appropriate technology based entrepreneurship training for community development has commenced in touristy town Lekhnath on Monday.
Pokhara University (PU) vice Chancellor Chirinjeevi Prasad Sharma inaugurated the-five day long training organized by Nepal Innovation Technology and Entreprenership Center (NITEC) at PU. Nepalese locals and university students are taking part in the training in order to discover appropriate technology based businesses items and turn them into business.
According to NITEC Director Young In Kim, in partnership with PU and Handong Global University (HGU), NITEC aims to develop innovative technology for processing specially products for business. Similarly, dissemination of renewable energy technology for local business in remote region and development of manufacturing business based on appropriate innovative technology are also the mottos of the project.
Wind Power Nepal CEO Kushal Gurung, Deputy Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Kiran Raj Pandit, the Bridge International CEO Jinsol wang, Handong Global University (HGU) professor Kee-seon Yoo, HGU professor Younsik Han, NITEC researcher Ahnna Lee, HGU professor Yunseon Kim are scheduled to deliver their lecture and business model in the workshop sponsored by Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
NITEC is a part of a program initiated by South Korea’s Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning to provide science and technology assistance for developing countries. NITEC aims to promote the science and technology capacity of PU through the development of appropriate technology that can be commercialized. So, NITEC intends to foster the appropriate technology based manufacturing industry and spread local business model to other communities in order to raise their economic self-sufficiency.
