Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Mamata Pun from Pokhara- 16, Lamachaur won the title of first YOUNEC Dancing Idol in Ghachok. Defeating her 12 rivals, Pun bagged 50,000 rupees cash including appreciation letter.
Similarly, Suhana Khatri became first runner up and Dikchha KC became 2nd runner up in the competition organized by the Youth Network for Change (YOUNEC) Ghachok during 2nd Ghachok Festival that had kicked off on last Friday and ended on last Tuesday. Khatri and KC received 30,000 and 20,000 rupees cash respectively. Safalata KC bagged the title of disciplined participant. Mahesh Godar and Jaya Kumar Pariyar were in the jury team.
YOUNEC president Mausham Karki informed that the festival was visited by some 18,000 crowds and around 3.5 million rupees of transition happened in the festival. Former VDC President Bisheshwor Prasad Lamsal was felicitated by YOUNEC Social Service Award for the first time in the festival. He was given 10,000 rupees cash and certificate when felicitation. Items made of almonds and milk were the major attractions in the festival.
Former Health Minister Khaga Raj Adhikari was the chief guest in the concluding ceremony of the festival. Lalit Bahadur Baniya on behalf of sponsor, CPN-UML Kaski secretary Damodar Bairagi, YOUNEC vice president Bijay Lamsal and secretary Resham Kumar Nepali expressed their views during the concluding ceremony chaired by festiival coordinator Bishnu Bahadur Khatri.
