India for peace and development of Nepal: Indian President Mukherjee

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Indian President Pranab Mukherjee said that India is always with Nepal for peace and development of his northern neighbor.

Addressing a mass gathering of Indian Gurkha ex-armies in Pokhara on Friday, Mukherjee asked Nepali people to work for the development of their nation and the India-Nepal ties.

In his 12 minute long speech, Mukherjee expressed his condolence for the loss of people and property on last year devastating earthquake of Nepal.

Informing that there are 32,000 Gurkha armies serving for India and 126,000 ex-armies getting the facility of pension in Nepal, Mukherjee appreciated for their contribution for Indian Government.

He also informed that India has been distributing 3,100 Crores Nepalese rupees as pension every year in Nepal and targeted to distribute 4,000 Crores Nepalese rupees in this financial year under one rank one pension and 7th CPC.

President Mukherjee recalled that the Indian Government has raised the pension of ex-armies by 2.57 percent in main pension that would be distributed up to 31 December 2015 under One Rank One Pension. He further informed that India had supported 6.5 Crore Nepalese rupees to Nepal for its welfare.

Earlier, President Mukherjee was welcomed by Local Development Minister Hitraj Pandey at Pokhara Airport. Then, Mukherjee reached Pokhara Grande Hotel for lunch and rest; and arrived to Indian pension camp at around 3.40 pm. President Mukherjee on Friday wrapped up his three-day state visit to Nepal and returned home from Tribhuvan International Airport.
