Isareli trekker missing in Mardi Himal Trek

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: The search of missing Israeli trekker Amit Reichman- 42 is undergoing along the Mardi Himal trekking route, Nepal Police informed.

Nepal Police personnel, local people and Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) representative are searching for missing Reichman who went missing since October 16. He remained out of contact as he reached to Mardi Base Camp. According to information, he was hiking alone with a small sack putting his luggage in the hotel room.

Reichman who is claimed to be an experience trekker, is the father of two and is an engineer at Israel Aerospace Industries. According to a travel agent, Reichman was travelling with his wife in Nepal before leaving for Mardi Trek. His wife had to returned back to Israel due to lack of time but her husband left for trekking and wanted to finish five day long Mardi Trek within 3 nights.

According to jerusalemonline.com, Daniel Mandelson, who had done the same trek with her father a few days before, heard about Reichman’s disappearance from tourists she met. “We came on Monday to the area of Low Camp and we heard vaguely about an Israeli who had left his guesthouse and never returned,’ she said.

It has been said that Nepal Police is in touch with Israeli embassy and updating the latest information to the embassy. Air Dynasty and Manang Air choppers with Israeli men remained busy on Sunday in search operation. According to Kaski District SP Ghanashyam Aryal, the whereabouts of the missing Israeli is still unknown however police personnel are busy in search operation.
