10-point Dhampus declaration clinched

Recentfusion.com–Pokhara: A 10-point Dhampus declaration has been announced to promote a trekking route to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) in Dhampus recently.

The declaration was signed by Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRN) senior vice president Bhuwan Bhatta, Annapurna Sanctuary Tourism Entrepreneur Association (ASTEA) President Dal Bahadur Gurng, former Forest and Social Conservation minister Kiran Gurung, Parliament’s Development Committee President and lawmaker Rabindra Adhikari and Lawmaker Sita Giri Oli.

The week-long ABC trek which is also known as Annapurna Sanctuary Trek starts from Phedi or Kande or Nayapul of Kaski and reaches to ABC (4130m). The Dhampus declaration includes the collective promotion of ABC route by NRNA and ASTEA, joint conservation of flora and fauna of that region, branding of ABC the route, mitigation and adaptation of global warming in ABC route area, development of rural tourism and organic food in along the route areas.

Cooperation between NRN Japan and Dhampus village for the international marketing of the local productions of that village, development of botanical and zoological garden, cooperation with embassies to promote the Annapurna Region, starting of Atihi Devo Bhava campaign by sending the at least three tourists to Nepal by a NRN member and study of effect of global warming in Anapurna Region also are incorporated in the declaration. The program was followed by the paper presentation by Srikanta Khatiwoda and Ashok Subedi.
