At least 25 killed in Pakistan mosque bombing

Recentfusion.com—Pakistan:  At least 25 were killed in a bombing happened at a mosque in Pakistan. The suicide bombing which has been claimed responsibility by Taliban splinter fraction went off  as Muslims gathered for Friday prayers in the settlement of Payee Khan in Mohmand Agency region.

“The suicide bomber was in packed mosque, he chanted ‘Allahu Akbar’, and then there was a huge explosion,” Naveed Akbar, deputy administrator of the region, told the international media.

There were injured more than 30 persons and it has been believed that the death toll could rise up. Jamaat ul-Ahrar, the Pakistani Taliban group claimed responsibility for the explosion.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack and said that the terrorists cannot smash the government’s resolve to abolish terrorism from the country.”

The bombing happened a day after a woman was assassinated by a grenade in Lower Mohmand Agency while militants attacked a pro-government tribal elder’s home. Mohmand resides in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas, a semi-autonomous tribal settlement bordering Afghanistan.
