Lekhnath–The 15th Lekhnath Festival 2075 is to organize from December 20 to 31 at Talchok in Lekhnath. Holding a press meet, organizer Lekhnath Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Chairman Krishna Hari Bhandari informed that a total of 350 different stalls would be installed in the festival.
With a slogan ‘ Festival: Lekhnath’s culture, local production, development and prosperity’, the festival includes the local productions, agriculture expo, education expo, IT expo, handicraft items, machinery tools, corporate institutions, garments, dairy products and grocery items. At the same time, pop concerts, folk duet songs, comedians’ show, children parks also are the added attractions in the festival.
Open poem competition, school level solo dance competition, Gandaki Star singing competition and Ratyauli song competition are also the enjoyable parts of the festival. According to PCCI deputy general secretary Gopi Chandara Bastola, the promotion and marketing of local and industrial productions as well as the preservation of local cultures are the key objectives of the festival.
The festival expects the total transaction of around Rs 200 million from 0.3 million visitors. At the same time, Rs 12.5 million is the the estimated income and Rs 3.5 million is the saving from the festival. The saving would be spent for the construction of agro items’ trading center in Lekhnath. General ticket costs Rs 60 while student should pay Rs 40 to enter the festival which is being sponsored by Advance Cement and promoted by Nepal Tourism Board.
