Landslide kills two workers in Rasuwa

Pokhara—Two manual workers Rasuwagadhi Hydropower have been killed when dry landslides stroke them at Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-1 in Nepal’s Rasuwa district last night, District Police Officer Rasuwa confirmed.

Nine others including a Chinese worker suffered injury during the incident. The condition of four of them is said to be critical. Deceased have been identified as Ramesh Kaprola, 22, of Makawanpur district and Bhim Roka, 50, Rukum district.

Ramesh faced spot death when Bhim succumbed to injury at hospital. Some of the injured are having treatment in Kathmandu. The landslide occurred near the entry point of the tunnel of the 111 MW at around 9 pm. Workers were about to enter the tunnel for further construction in night shift, informed project head Chhabi Gaire.
