NC holds protest rally in Pokhara

Pokhara—The Nepali Congress Kaski has organized a mass rally against the Prime Minister KP Oli led government in Pokhara on Tuesday. The rally and mass meeting were the part of NC’s nationwide protest held in 77 districts against the ‘authoritarian moves’ of government. The rally began from Prithvi Chowk of Pokhara and marched through the New Road before holding a mass meeting in BP Chowk. NC has accused the government of defaming the press, surging the taxes and the price of daily using goods.

Addressing a mass meeting, NC central committee member Jivan Pariyar blamed the government of being guided by the mafias. He also condemned the government moves that the some appointments made by the former PM Sher Bahadur Deuba led government were annulled few weeks ago. Likewise, invited central committee member Surya Bahadur KC claimed that the government working style is shortening its own age. Former minister Yagya Bahadur Thapa said that the government style dragged the people in the street for protest.

National Assembly member Ms Brinda Devi Rana, Gandaki Province assembly member Bindu Kumar Thapa, NC leader Devraj Chalise, Annapurna Rural Municipality Chief Yubaraj Kunwar, Nepal Women Association Kaski President Ms Kopila Ranabhat and Nepal Tarun Dal Kaski President Manoj Gurung expressed their remarks against the government. The program was chaired by NC Kaski Chairman Krishna KC and NC Kaski treasurer Laxmi Pandey thanked all the participants of the rally.
