Pokhara—Pokhara based Journalist Raj Bahadur Gurung has been honored with Karma Karna Indigenous Nationalities Journalism Award 2075 in Pokhara on Friday. Gurung was jointly awarded by National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Tamu Dhi Nepal President Ms Karma Gurung and Federation of Nepal Indigenous Journalists Kaski Chairman MB Astha Magar.

Addressing the felicitation program, Chairman Timilsina urged for unity among the people to make Gandaki a model province. He further appealed all the Indigenous Nationalities to work together for the prosperity of this province. Felicitated journalist Gurung said that the felicitation is not only of his but also of all journalists. He also added that the journalism should be the voice of voiceless.

President Karma Gurung expressed her happiness that she got the opportunity of felicitating journalist Gurung and further claimed that there have been publishing very few news on the side of indigenous nationalities. The award worth rupees 15,000 was established by Ms Karma and was given on the occasion of her 39th marriage anniversary today.

Chief District Officer of Kaski Taranath Adhikari, Award Selection Committee Coordinator Surendra Thapa Magar, journalist Ram Krishna Gnyawali, Janajati leader Dharma Tamu, FONIJ advisor Hum Tamu and journalist Shanti Gurung expressed their views during the program chaired by FONIJ Kaski president Magar.
