Pokhara—Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his two day state visit to Nepal on Saturday. PM Modi had started his visit to Nepal the day before as a pilgrim. Issuing a 16-point joint statement, both the Prime Ministers ordered their respective authorities to carry out technical study to provide more air routes to Nepal. PM Modi again invited his counterpart PM KP Sharma Oli for the visit to India.
Addressing a meeting organized for his felicitation by Kathmandu Metropolitan City today, PM Modi vowed full support of India for the development of Nepal. PM also said that he is ready to become a Sherpa to take Nepal at the top of the Mt. Everest. According to him, Nepal is now at the base came of Everest and he is ready to assist Nepal to take the peak. He was given 55 kg’s Buddha idol during the felicitation.
Following the farewell of PM Modi, Foreign Affairs Minister Pradip Gyawali termed the PM Modi’s visit a successful and historic. Earlier this morning, PM Modi reached to Mustang and offered Pooja in Muktinath Temple. Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari and Province 4 Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung welcomed PM Modi in that temple.
Earlier, police arrested 29 leaders including CP Gajurel and cadres of Nepal Communist Revolutionary for allegedly carrying out protest program against the Indian embargo and current visit of PM Narendra Modi. Greater Nepal Chairman Fanindra Nepal also was nabbed in same case.
