Pokhara—Province 4 government has presented its first budget of current fiscal on Wednesday. Finance Minister Kiran Gurung announced the budget of Rs 1.02 billion in Province Assembly house.
The budget allocates Rs 540.1 million for capital expenditure and Rs 480.3 million for financial provision for remaining months of ongoing fiscal year. The budget focused especially on tourism, energy, agriculture, industry and infrastructure development to make this province prosperous and happy.
The budget also aims to forge new laws, feasibility study and laid foundation for the budget of upcoming fiscal. Monorail from Phewa Lake to Begnas and Rupa Lake, construction of international conference hall and stadium, electricity access for all the citizens of this province, construction of 1000 bed hospital and availability of pure drinking water are key aims of the budget.
Hosting of Investment Conference, Domestic Tourism Year 2019, Neighboring Tourism Year 2020 and International Pokhara Tourism Year 2022 also are the parts of the budget. Development of 300 homestays also is incorporated in the budget.
Road connectivity from Province Headquarter to local level’s center, construction of Province Assembly secretariat, Province residential building construction, Phewa Lake conservation, fully vaccinated province, Province disaster management fund, emergency fund, DPR of international level zoological park, Korala-Pokhara-Bhimad-Dedgaun-Dumkibas road construction, feasibility study to develop cable car in 11 p laces are also confined in the budget.
