Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: The Cardiac Care Unit has commenced its service at the premises of Western Regional Hospital Pokhara from Tuesday. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for women, children and social welfare Mr. CP Minali inaugurated the heart care center jointly funded by Lions International Foundation and Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) in association of Lions Clubs International District 325 B1, Nepal.
10.5 million Nepali rupees of foundation, 1.5 million of PCCI, Lions from Pokhara 0.7 million and 1.5 million from other were contributed for the center. There has been extended 4 beds in ICU of hospital for heart care, informed Dhurba Bahadur Thapa, president of Lions District 325 b1. 4 monitors, ICU monitor, Echo machine were handed over to the center during the opening ceremony.
According to cardiologist Dr. Madhav Tiwari, patients from Pokhara and surrounding districts could directly get heart treatment following the establishment of this center. Western Regional Hospital medical superintendent Dr. Shree Krishna Shrestha said that the only primary service for heart care could be carried out in this center from that day.
