Kathmandu—Kathmandu district constituency number 4 candidate and Nepali Congress leader Gagan Kumar Thapa including other 9 got injured when an unidentified group carried out an explosion in Kathmandu today. The incident happened as leader Thapa was busy in door to door program at Chapali Height of Budhanilkantha Municipality- 2, Kathmandu. Two of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
According to Mahanagariya Police Office Chief and AIG Jaya Bahadur Chand, Thapa faced three small particles in his body during explosion and he instantly was rushed to TU Teaching Hospital for treatment. He sustained injuries in his back and ear.
Giving a brief comment from hospital bed, Thapa asked all his cadres and voters not to be terrorized from such happenings. “The explosion apparently targeted me and my team”, he said, but I won’t be scared.
LikewiseNepal Army diffused a bomb planted nearby a hotel where PM Sher Bahadur Deuba was living at Dhangadi. The pressure cooker bomb was placed 400 meters away from the hotel. Deuba is in Dhangadi for his election campaign.
