Pokhara—The left alliance has unveiled its electoral manifesto for parliamentary and provincial polls slated for November 26 and December 7, in Kathmandu today. Organizing a press meet, CPN-UML chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN-MC chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda unveiled a joint manifesto of their alliance that they forged on October 3, 2017.
Speaking in a press meet, chairman Oli termed the manifesto best and claimed that the manifesto is the guarantee paper of five key subjects- nationalism, democracy, national unity, peace and development. Pointing to the Nepali Congress, he also said there is no need to be tensed by the unity of left parties. Earlier, Dahal said that they have mainly focused the issues of political stability and economic prosperity in the manifesto. He claimed that the left alliance will end the 70 years old political instability.
$5,000 per capita income within 10 years, self dependent country in food grains within 2 years, double productivity of land within a decade, use of modern technology and equipments in agriculture sector, modern irrigation system for fertile land within five years are some of the key agendas of the manifesto.
24 hour electricity facility to industry, agriculture sector and roads within five years, production of 15,000 mega watt of electricity in a decade, construction of electricity projects with the sharing of people, construction of Kathmandu-Tarai fast track, upgrading of east west highway as six lanes road, railway service from Kerung-Kathmnadu-Pokhara to Lumbini, east west railway service, Kathmandu Birgung rail service are also the subject of the left parties’ manifesto.
5 million tourists within a decade, compulsory health insurance, increment in social security allowance and 1 million employments in production sector within a decade also are confined in the manifesto.
