Pokhara to get world class soccer stadium

Pokhara—A global tender has been called on Tuesday to construct a world class soccer stadium in Pokhara. According to Western Regional Sports Development Committee (WRSDC) Chairman Khagraj Paudel, a company who wants to construct the stadium could apply till November 18, 2017.

The tender was carried out as the detail project report of the international level stadium has already been prepared by ND Engineering Consultancy. The DPR projects the construction cost of Rs 850 million and Rs 170 million have already been made available to WRSDC by Sports Ministry of Nepal.

The stadium with parapets capacity of 30,000 audiences also will get VIP room, media center, changing room, referee room including other basic infrastructures that should have international level stadium. The stadium will also get a international level athletic track two digital score boards, powerful lights, 4 gates for audiences and fiber roofs. The stadium will be built at the same place where the Pokhara Stadium exists and will also cover 400 ropanis of land.

The project came out as 13th South Asian Game is going to be held in Nepal in 2019. It has been hoped that the stadium will be prepared within a period of 10 months.
