800 cyclists paddle in Tour de Pokhara

Pokhara–At least 800 cyclists paddled to take part in a ralky called Tour de Pokhara organized by Cycle City Pokhara (CCP) in lake city on Saturday.

The rally started from Pokhara Stadium and went through Buddha Chowk, Amarsingh Chowk, Rani Pauwa, Mahendrapul, PN Campus, Batule Chaur, Lamachaur, Bagar, Mohoria Tol, Siddhartha Chowk, BP Chowk, New Road, Srijana Chowk, Hallan Chowk, Lakeside, Damside, Mustang Chowk and again reached Stadium to cross the stipulated 26.5 km distance.

According to CCP Chairman Prakash Bajracharya, focusing on health, tourism and environment, the program first commenced on 2072 BS in Pokhara. The concept was borrowed from Tour De France that had started on July 1, 1903.
