Public Toilet in Prithvi Chowk

Pokhara—A public toilet with modern facilities has come in operation in Prithvi Chowk of Pokhara from Thursday. Sahara Club Pokhara (SCP) reopened the toilet after the renovation of 4 months of period.

According SCP Chairman Birbhadra Acharya, the toilet with bathing facility is also accessible to the disabled people too. Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City Mayor Man Bahadur GC inaugurated the newly revamped toilet and asked the SCP to operate it in long run. GC also said that the modern toilet is a helpful factor to develop Pokhara as a smart city.

Toilet reconstruction committee coordinator Lil Bahadur Thapa informed that some 22 persons can have the facility at once in the toilet. According to him, around 2.9 million rupees have been spent to construct that toilet. PLMC Office supported Rs 14,03,000 and SCP donated RS 13,49,000 to make the toilet. Likewise, other social institutions and individuals also supported the funds for toilet-construction.

One should pay rupees five while free of cost to disabled to use the toilet that has two separate sections for male and female, informed SCP general secretary Keshav Raj Baral.
