UDMF not to take part in polls

Pokhara—Unified Democratic Madhesi Front has defied the recent constitution amendment bill registered in parliament on Tuesday. Announcing the protest programs, UDMF also said that its member parties won’t take part in upcoming local level election.

UDMF accused the government of registering the amendment bill not consulting with the former. ‘The recent amendment bill is against the understanding made with the government.’ UDMF said.

The UDMF meeting claimed that the amendment bill is regressive as it doesn’t address the issue of province demarcation. Issuing a press release, UDMF said that the front won’t take part in the election of this time of agitation of UDMF.

UDMF has announced the protest programs that will host rallies in every district headquarters of Madhes on April 13. Likewise, UDMF will also picket the election commission offices in every district of the Madhes.
