International volleyball tournament begins in Pokhara

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Tribhuvan Army Club defeated Armed Police Force on three consecutive sets in  Srijana Invited Volleyball Tournament that kicked off here in Pokhara Stadium today.

TAC which is also a gold medalist in men’s volleyball in 7th National Games  thrashed APF 25-19, 29-27 and 25-21 in the league cum knockout tournament which is being jointly organized by Kaski District Volleyball Association, Western Regional Volleyball Association (WRVA), Kaski District Sports Development Committee and Western Regional Sports Development Committee.

According to tournament manager Raj Kumar Gurung, TAC, APF, Nepal Police Club, Western Regional Volleyball Association, New Diamond Academy, Help Nepal Sports Club and Indian teams are taking part in the tournament that includes both the categories of competition on man and women sides.

The winner teams will get Rs 155,555; first runner ups will bag Rs 77,777, while 2nd runner ups Rs 33,333, informed Khaga Raj Paudel who is the chairman of WRVA. TAC woman team will take on APF woman and NPC will take on Uttar Pradesh Volleyball Association in tomorrow’s matches.

Parliamentary Development Committee Chairman and lawmaker Rabindra Adhikari inaugurated the tournament which is sponsored by Srijana Bikas Kendra Simalchaur.
