Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: National Industrial Trade Fair has kicked off in Pokhara today. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Bahadur Shahi inaugurated the festival in a formal ceremony held in Pokhara Exhibition Center in Naya Bazaar of Pokhara.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, minister Shahi said that the construction of Pokhara Regional International Airport, Gautam Buddha Airport in Lumbini and another international airport in Nijgadh are in government top priorities.
There are all total 295 business stalls in the festival organized by Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI); and the festival will be concluded in December 19. According to PCCI president Bishwo Shakar Palikhe, the promotion of trade and business is some of the key motives of the festival. Tourism promotion and marketing of local products will also be carried out in the festival.
The morning procession with cultural tableau was held before the inaugural ceremony in Pokhara. Stalls of restaurants, auto, agriculture, handicrafts, floriculture, IT, education, health and tourism are included among those stalls. PCCI Gayen Tara 2073, duet songs, fashion show, body building, wrestling, live band, folk dance, comedy show also are the parts of festival, informed PCCI treasurer Pawan Prajapati.
On November 11, PCCI will bring foreign tourists to the festival to show them special cultural program. The festival is trying to focus the importance and promotion of undergoing Ghumphir Barsa 2073. PCCI has claimed that the hotels in Pokhara will give 25 percent discount to the visitors during the festival time. Such discount will be given 5 percent in restaurants and 15 percent in travel sectors.
The saving from the festival will be invested for the infrastructure development of the Pokhara Exhibition Center. The festival is being sponsored by Arghakhanchi Cement, co-sponsored by NIC Asia Bank, promoted by Nepal Tourism Board and Rastriya Banijya Bank.
