White Water Challenge concludes in Pokhara

Magar, Tamang wins Extreme Slalom

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Nim Bahadur Magar and Surat Tamang from Nepal became champion in Extreme Slalom category of 15th White Water Challenge Nepal 2016 concluded at Upper Seti of Pokhara on Wednesday.

Likewise, Garen Stephenh from USA and Prakash Gurung from Nepal secured 2nd position. Umesh Shrestha from Nepal became 3rd in Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) Western Region organized challenge.

Similarly, in female side, Beth Morgan from UK became first in the challenge. Susan Doyle from Ireland and Nicole Portheim from Europe secured 2nd and 3rd position respectively. A total of 32 players including females took part in today’s challenge.

Players took part in Down River Race and Boater Cross on Monday and Tuesday respectively. Secretary at the Ministry for Youth and Sports Mahesh Prasad Dahal distributed cash, medal and certificates to the winners.

According to NARA central committee vice president Keshav Prasad Kafle, the promotion of sports and adventure activities in Pokhara was a motto of the challenge, held in Pokhara.
