Garen Stephens wins Boater Cross in Himalayan White water Challenge

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Garen Stephens from USA today secured first position in Boater Cross under 15th Himalayan White water Challenge Nepal 2016 that kicked off in Upper Seti of touristy town Pokhara on Monday.

Likewise, Noah Phillips from UK bagged 2nd prize and Dipesh Gurung from Nepal became third in that challenge which was taken part by 60 players from different 16 countries. In yesterday’s Down River Race category, Nim Bahadur Magar, Rajendra Gurung and Dipesh Gurung from Nepal secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

Similarly, in women category, Beth Morgan from UK became first. Kirra Paulus from USA and Susan Doyle form Ireland secured 2nd and third position respectively, informed Milan Tiwari, executive member of organizer Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA)- Western Region.

Participants from Nepal, US, UK, Spain, Japan including other nations are taking part in the challenge.  They will challenge for extreme Slalom tomorrow. The challenge is being organized in the distance of 1 km down to the Mardi Dobhan of Pokhara- Kaski.

The promotion of rafting, kayaking and water sports in Pokhara is a key motto of that challenge, informed NARA Western Region president Nim Bahadur Magar.
