Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: BBST from Kathmandu won the title of Pokhara Veterans National Men Open Basketball Tournament, in Pokhara on Saturday. BBST defeated Pum Samaj Kaski 62-58 to bag the title of Rs 40,444. Runner up Pun Samaj got Rs 25,555. Karma Gurung of BBST won the title of best player of the tournament. Nol Bahadur Pun of Pun Samaj prized as high scorer.
All total 8 teams took part in the tournament organized by Kaski District Basketball Association (KDBA) and sponsored by Pathibhara Oversease Pvt. Ltd. Players above 40 years were included in the teams.
Nepal Olympic Committee general secretary and National Sports Council vice chairman Tendi Lama Sherpa, Basketball Association center vice Chairman Jum Gurung, Nepal Olympic Committee member Tej Gurung, tournament coordinator Narayan Sharma, Western Regional Sports Development Committee chairman Khag Raj Paudel, District Sports Development Committee chairman Yam Gurung and HISSAN Kaski chairman Babu Ram Pant distributed the prize money, cup, medal and certificate in the concluding ceremony chaired by KDBA chairman Netra Bahadur Sen.
