Pokhrel seeks justification to amend constitution

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: CPN-UML general secretary Ishwor Pokhrel said that there was no need of amending the constitution of Nepal.

Speaking to journalists in Pokhara on Monday, leader Pokharel challenged them who want to amendment to justify the need of that. He claimed that the matter of constitution amendment was the issue of foreign forces and the demand was surfaced to scrap the constitution.

He also recalled the last year’s attempt that occurred just before the promulgation of constitution but according to him, the political forces became success to crush that threat. ‘Some reactionary forces are trying to stop implementation of the constitution,’ leader Pokhrel added- our neighbor India should sit out of that.

He also accused India of internationalizing the constitution amendment issue and added that no constitution of world is fully satisfactory to its people. Leader Pokhrel criticized the PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal India visit that according to him, remained shameful for Nepali people.

He accused some forces who don’t want democracy, of trying to push Nepal towards political and constitutional crisis. Pokhrel stressed on the need of unity among the political forces to implement the constitution and to crush the political hurdles. Pokhrel also assured people that his party would play positive and sportive role to hold the 3-levels of elections within the stipulated time-frame of 16 months.

Pokhrel also awarded Press Chautari Journalism Prize to Nim Dutta Subedi, RSS Pokhara in-charge, in a program organized by Press Chautari Nepal Kaski Chapter, in Pokhara on Monday.
