Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Surke Thaili khai….has become the first Nepali song to have more than 1 crore (10 million) Youtube hits. Rajan Raj Siwakoti who is the lyricist of this song hadn’t thought that the song becomes so popular, at first.
In recent years, Youtube has assumed as one of the major tools to measure the popularity of any video or audio uploaded there. Siwakoti is not only a song writer but also is a singer and musician.
The record breaking song was included in Nepali featured movie Woda Number 6. Siwakoti who originally hail from Nepal’s Dolkha district, also is a musician of this song. The song contains the vocal of Anju Pant, Siwakoti and Raju BK.
According to Siwakoti, this song which was released on August 6, 2015 in Youtube, became popular as it has very original and traditional Nepali wordings. Surke Thaili is a traditional Nepali clothing purse with thread closing system.This song has already won the D-Cine award in the genre of popular Nepali song. It also is a winner of FAAN ward.
