Pokhara–At least 22 people were killed due to landslides and floods in Nepal’s Achham district last night. According to the acting Chief District Officer of Acham Dipesh Rijal, 4 persons went missing and 11 persons were rescued in the incidents.
The landslides and floods happened in Dhakari Rural Municipality, Turmakhand Rural Municipality, and Kamalbazaar Municipality of the district. Nepal Police personnel have been deployed for a search and rescue operation.
Likewise, the Bhimdutta road which connects 7 hilly districts of far western disrupted due to landslides. Dozens of households and settlements of the Kailalai and Kanchanpur districts also are inundated by the floods. (Updated)
