Pokhara–Newly elected Pokhara Tourism Council (PTC) chairman and other executives were sworn in on Sunday in Pokhara. PTC Chief Election Officer and past chairman Dambar Bahadur KC administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly elected executives in a formal ceremony held in Pokhara.
PTC’s 22nd annual and general meeting and 12th general convention elected Pom Narayan Shrestha as chairman of this organization. Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai is the immediate past chairman of PTC. Likewise, the first meeting of PTC also allocated the responsibility to the members who were unanimously elected to the convention. As per the allocation, Krishna Bhandari became the first vice chairman and Tara Nath Pahari got the responsibility of 2nd vice chairman. Sanjay Kant Sigdel and Hari Bhujel received the role of general secretary and secretary respectively.
Chau Bahadur Gurung treasurer and Boba Jang Gurung joint treasurer also are part of the new committee. Similarly, Krishna Prasad Kafle, Nim Bahadur Magar, and Jeevanraj Sapkota are the members of the newly formed committee. Sanjay, Chau, and Hari entered the committee as nominated members.
Chairman from Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal, Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki, Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents, Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal Pokhara, Taxi Sewa Pvt. Ltd., Trekking Equipment Shop Association Pokhara, Embroidery and Garment Association Pokhara, Nepal Air Sports Association Pokhara, Village Tourism Promotion Forum, Nepal Tourism Transport Entrepreneurs’ Association, Nepal Mountaineering Association Gandaki and Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies Gandaki are the ex officio members of the committee.
At the same time, PTC former advisor Basudev Tripathi, past chairmen Som Bahadur Thapa, Chirinjivi Pokhrel, IPP Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai, and new chairman Shrestha put their remarks during the swearing-in ceremony.
