Pokhara—Six people have died when a truck plunged into the Marshyangdi River on Saturday. According to authorities, three people were killed on the spot and two succumbed to injury on the way to the hospital. Likewise, another person took a final breath at Chitwan Medical College.
The incident occurred at Khotro of Naso Rural Municipality- 4 of Nepal’s Trans Himalayan district Manang. According to Manang DSP Subash Khadka, the truck with passengers was heading for Manang district headquarter Chame from Lamjung district headquarter Beshisahar.
The deceased have been identified as Liyon Gurung, 1.5, Manish Gurung, 35, Jalkashi Gurung, 31, co-driver Laxman Nepali, 21, Raju BK, 28 and Thiyon Gurung, 4. Seriously injured truck driver Suman Tamang, 24, and Niyol Gurung, 6 were referred to CMC. The truck carrying cement sacks suddenly started to come back as it was taking an uphill pace, during the incident.
