Kathmandu—Nepal and Japan have signed an agreement regarding foreign employment system in Kathmandu on Monday.
Now the Nepali workers can go Japan following this signing ceremony of the memorandum of cooperation between the government of Nepal and Japan. The agreement was clinched on a basic framework for information partnership for proper operation of the system pertaining to foreign human resources with the status of residence of specification skilled workers.
Labor, employment and social security ministry joint secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire from Nepal side and Japanese ambassador to Nepal Masamichi Saigo signed the agreement that opens the door for skilled Nepali workers to work in 14 different sectors in Japan. SSW 1 category workers should be experienced and will get opportunity of staying Japan for five years. Similarly SSW 2 category workers should have highly skilled. They also can take their family members to Japan.
Agriculture, nursing care, automobile repair and maintenance, food service industry, construction industry, manufacture of food and beverages, accommodation industry, machine parts and tooling industries, fishery and aqua culture, industrial machinery, electronics and information industry, building cleaning management, ship building and aviation industry are those sectors.
According to agreement, All the Nepali workers would receive wages equal to their Japanese colleagues. The deal will be effective from April 1, 2019. On December 2018, Japan’s cabinet had decided to take 345,000 foreign workers from different nine nations. The workers include those from Nepal, China, Indonesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
