Pokhara—Main opposition Nepali Congress chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba Tuesday said that the recent pact clinched between Nepal Government and Dr CK Raut seemed suspicious as some of its points have dual meanings.

Speaking in a press meet organized by Nepal Press Union Kaski in Pokhara, chairman Deuba raised the question over the speech given by Dr Raut right after the clinching of 11 point deal. “Yes, the deal seems positive to some extent but why did Raut delivered anti national speech even after the deal?” Deuba said.

According to Deuba Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his government is not doing well by making a deal with Dr Raut. He further said that the entire game is anti national and suspicious as one of the signatories Mr Raut speaks against the deal.

Deuba who is also a former PM of Nepal urged the government to clarify the deal or arrest Mr Raut on the charge of anti national statement. Saying that the statement on the defragmentation of Nepal could not be tolerated, Deuba scraped the matter of referendum on the issue of free Madhesh which was a major demand of Dr Raut.

Chairman Deuba made clear that PM Oli and Nepal government did no consultation with Nepali Congress before clinching the deal with Dr Raut. “Bringing Raut to the mainstream politics was good thing but the government has endorsed the agenda of free Madhesh,” he said. At the same time Deuba accused the government of operating the activities that weaken the federalism.
